In and out, up and down. One minute I'm summer and another I'm winter, I run deeper. It's inevitable when you've more than one set of thoughts, got to differentiate them. Sometimes I hear my own voice and think, 'she's young, she's so young'. I sound like someone else, not like me at all. Get shrill when I scream; never used to. Guess vocal chords get rough when you use them too much.
87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I know you think I'm going to say uncut, but I'm not. We'd have died without what they did to me, maybe once, maybe a thousand times. Want to have a dial to turn it down, though. Some form of control, anything. To have to feel other people's feelings -- I can barely see myself some days.
82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
Don't usually think more than five steps ahead. I try, but then I get to the wrong places. Used to never need a plan, a way to do things. Not like Simon with his planners and his lists, though. Think is I always used to be ten steps ahead just by looking at someone; now I'm a hundred ahead and hopelessly lost. I try not to get too far.
54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
The only person who believed in me. Came to rescue me, gave up everything to do it. I took everything he had, stole it away from him, and then when he found me he touched my face and looked at me like a person, not the thing he found in his sister's skin.

Ah, people always seem to think I'm dishonest, but I'm really not! I guess it's because all those parts of me that people see in Agito, they were me originally and it's still my mouth saying them. I suppose I'm not very good at articulating how I feel - I can be a little blunt sometimes, I guess! It's because of growing up with onii-chan, probably... ah, but really, I'm very honest about my feelings. In fact, sometimes I think that I'm too obvious sometimes, and it turns people off...
39. What is your worst memory?
Being locked up in that cage, before Agito came to me. It was so hard, and I was all alone. There's been a lot of stuff that's been hard, and I've cried a lot, but I've always had Agito protecting me after he came. I guess when Akira betrayed Agito, though, that was also really bad, because it wasn't me who was saddest, it was Agito, and I had to be strong and try to protect him instead of the other way around. It was really hard.
72. What is your favorite color?
Hmm... I like blue a lot! Agito likes red better, but blue is such a nice color, isn't it?
60. How close are you to your family?
My mother and father have been dead for as long as I can't remember, so it's always been just me and my older brother. Our relationship is... well, it's complicated. Ah, and then there's Agito! I don't know if he really counts as family, but we're obviously close.

I rarely argue with people. I listen to their arguments, weigh them against my own opinions, determine which is the correct one and then act based on my judgments. I don't particularly feel the need for people to agree with me; I know that I will pick the right answer in the end. When I was a child I actively avoided conflict, but now I just don't seek it out. It doesn't really matter in the end, so long as what needs to get done is done.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
I'm an orphan, so I have never had a real family to speak of. I suppose you could call my schoolmates at Whammy House my family, if you really wanted to stretch. I got along with them all right, generally speaking. I wasn't particularly popular or well-liked like Mello was, but people respected my intelligence. Roger was always very kind to me, perhaps more than he really needed to be; I think he inferred that my quietness was a reflection of some sort of sensitive nature. As it turned out, his assumption was flawed, as I haven't got anything of the sort. Mello and I have always had a strange relationship. It actually got a lot better with the Kira case and now in Babylon. We just have different personalities, I suppose, and we're rivals, so that has never really helped things. I didn't talk much to Matt, we were always rather seperate because he was friends with Mello. And L... I've only met L a couple of times, I could probably count our meetings on either hand, but I always really respected L. Not much upsets me, but L dying... well, that did, somewhat.
50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
Yes. I don't believe that Kira can ever be reformed. If someone is the type of person who can commit a series of crimes in cold blood, he should not be allowed to run free. Vigilantes, people who take the system into their own hands - god complexes.
33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
This is a question that I would rather not get into, if at all possible. Any detective has to do things that he isn't proud of.
77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Watching the security feeds. Saturday night is actually my most informative night.

Aaah, we're starting out with a deep question! I don't really know. I suppose you could say that I'm the combination of hundreds of years' worth of fate. If you go back far enough, maybe the original Kabane who failed to take down Souhaku. His failure set my fate in motion, he gave me my powers, and without his association with the original Shoujou I would never have met Mitsuiro. Even my eyes are due to him; it was because the original Kabane ruined his own eyes to gain a better awareness of his own powers that I was expected to do the same.
68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
I don't mind it! I like people. I'm the kind of person who gets along with all sorts of people, although when I really relate to someone it's usually on a one-on-one basis.

I always have a plan. Even though I look like this, I'm the kind of person who always has at least two backup plans prepared. Of course, I don't like to let on about them. If people know about your safety net, it's easier to cut it out from under you.

I've been derided for so many years that not much shocks or offends me anymore. Sometimes the things that Sirius say rub me the wrong way, since he's known me long enough to know what to say that'll make me angry or hurt my feelings or whatever. "Beast" comments and the like are never really pleasant, you know? Otherwise, there isn't a lot. Like I said, between Padfoot, Wormtail, and Prongs, there isn't anything shocking or offensive that I haven't heard already.
53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I tend to be polite, but to keep people at a distance. I have a hard time opening up to people, which makes it difficult to make really good friends. Even once I've made friends, I don't tell them everything - I don't want to burden them with my problems and worries, so I keep them to myself. I treat my friends well, and I should probably give them less leeway than I do. I can't help it, though, I like them and don't want them to be angry at me.
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
I'm basically a pessimist at heart. I believe in the good in people, I really do... but it's better to prepare for the worst.
30. Who has had the most influence on you?
James, Sirius, and Peter. They've changed me from the lonely kid I used to be, and I really do owe them the world.

I'm very organized! I like making day planners and schedules and stuff like that. I color-code them with highlighters and it's a lot of fun! I guess I got that from onii-chan, because a lot of times he would have me do his filing for him when the contents of the folders were touchy or illegal. I just like putting stuff in order and having a plan. Or maybe I just like coloring stuff with highlighters, I've never really decided...

Neither; I take things as they come, planning for all possibilities. Optimism and pessimism are for those who are too lazy to plan for all outcomes.
49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
I am very rarely open about my thoughts or feelings, really. I've been that way since I was very young; I was raised to be a good leader of a company, which necessarily means that I have to be difficult to read and understand. Besides, opening up to people means that I have become vulnerable to them, and I would rather die than give anyone else power like that over me.
34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
No, I've been very careful not to get caught and to cover my own tracks.
81. How do you deal with stress?
I compartmentalize; I generally take the stress that is useful for me in some way and apply it and deal with the stress that just causes problems at a later time. When everything is straightened out, I generally go out to dinner, or go on a run. Sometimes talking to Simca-san helps, but she often just creates more issues for me to have to fix. When I was with Behemoth it was less pressure, as I never felt like Akira-san expected as much out of me as Simca-san and Spitfire do. I used to talk to Mimisaka when I was stressed, but obviously that isn't an option anymore.
18. Did you enjoy school?
No. I learned a lot and was good at it, but I was constantly being watched and judged. It wasn't until I found AT that I was able to be truly happy.

I think if she could, my writer would tell me that it's okay to slow down and take things at my own pace. Also, she'd probably add that I should work more to let people know when they are important to me, and that independence is all very well and good but that I'll be happier if I allow myself to depend on other people from time to time.

I wake up early and make breakfast for myself and usually Hei-san; I'm used to making food for two, so I suppose it's force of habit. After that, I make my bentou with whatever leftovers I have from dinner the night before and go to class. After school since I don't have club activities I usually go straight to Petrelli-san's office for work, and I stay there until evening. Lately I've taken to fixing food and bringing some to sempai after work, since he's going to get malnourished if he eats nothing but cup ramen and spaghetti. Then I do my homework and go to bed.

A few years ago, I probably would have said L. I still respect him a great deal. Recently, though, I've been thinking about what it means to sacrifice your own life for the sake of the investigation, and Mello has gone up in my estimation a great deal. Oh, I don't know. I get up in the morning, go to work, stay there until close, and then drop by Pads and Prongs' place. Usually Pete is there too, and we get shitfaced. Occasionally I have work to do for the Order, or there's a meeting. Some days I get lunch with Lily. Sometimes I go home and sometimes I crash there, depending on if I'm in the mood to make them breakfast in the morning. Since it isn't really a set schedule, I don't get too upset if it deviates from the norm. You learn to be flexible hanging out with the Marauders.

Generally I want to know upfront if someone's strong. I guess that might be construed as rudeness or violence or whatever but I just want to know if I'm interested in them. The only people I associate with for long periods of time are strong people, and I'm generally pretty friendly I guess? You know, whatever, long as they'll fight me I'm good.

That fight with that arrancar. I was really lucky. That was a good fight. First time I ever fought with Yumichika, second time I ever fought with the captain.

Nah, best I've got is Yumichika, who not so much a significant other as just someone I've been around for who even knows how long. He's not as terrible as he first comes across. Like, he's kind of weird and has the weirdest hangups or whatever but he's wired right where it counts.
