Mitsuiro got a new yukata the year I ascended to head of the family. She told me the pattern, let me trace my fingers over the fabric. Said she wanted to try wearing a yukata I'd never seen, see how good my nose really was. I could tell her the colors, the pattern, the way it fell around her elbows, which trunk she'd been storing it in. She ruffled my hair and told me I was a smart kid. Her mother'd put flowers in her hair and she'd washed her face with a clean sort of soap.
