Katniss thinks she'd be fine with dying, that she has nothing else worth fighting for, but of course after her initial attempts just to pass away quietly in the Capitol she keeps going anyway. She justifies it to herself that she's been surviving for so long she doesn't know how not to, but the truth I think is she wants to live. She wants and needs a reason for it, and I think the whole time she's been in New Moore she's been seeking them out.

On the other hand, she's been surviving so long that I don't think there's any fear of death associated with it anymore - her body just moves automatically. I don't think she's scared to die, but I do think there's a small part of her that thinks it'd just be waste on top of waste.
